The path from looking to moving in

1. Start with your budget and priorities. Think about your timing, monthly comfort level, and must-haves. If you're financing, a lender can explain loan options and preapproval.

2. Explore homes. Compare available homes with your priorities, tour the ones that interest you, and consider how each fits your everyday life.

3. Make an offer. When you find a home you'd like to buy, consider the price, terms, and deadlines. An offer becomes a contract only when both sides agree.

4. Work through the details. Once under contract, inspections, financing, title review, and any appraisal help move the purchase toward closing. Your contract sets the deadlines and available options.

5. Prepare for closing. Review your final documents and costs, arrange the required funds securely, and complete the final walkthrough. Closing and possession follow the terms of your contract.
